Mick Brown, Ph.D.

Mick’s critical analytical skills and technical thoroughness have helped Charter Coating to establish a reputation for excellence. He has broad international experience with a solid knowledge of protective coatings from 20 years with Charter Coating. This technical background is combined with training and experience in international marketing.

After receiving a first class honors degree from Oxford University in England Mick stayed on at Oxford to complete a doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry. After four years of laboratory research work synthesizing novel antihypertensives, Mick took it on himself to get training in marketing and moved into a job with Boots Chemicals in England, marketing their industrial products in many countries of Europe, Scandinavia and North America. This led to contacts in Canada which resulted in him moving to Calgary in 1991. In 1992 he moved to Charter Coating to work in the laboratory where his involvement in protective coatings began. After working in the laboratory for five years Mick moved to Turkey and from there he has worked with Charter as an international representative and technical consultant.
